Alright. So, I'm someone with a lot of patience. I volunteer in youth ministry with plans to go into professional youth ministry eventually.
But even the Achievement Warrior has those days where she wants to put her head through the wall. And they're usually because of these achievements... good thing is, the first three drove me crazy.... just because I did them "the old way," as you'll see in my explanations.
Littlest Pet Shop. I'm a bit of a gold fiend, and usually keep around 100k on my account. I'm not crazy like some people (one person on my server has over 50 million on his battlenet account). So, if I see one of the rare pets for an usually low price (that I know isn't hacked), I nab it up. Still missing a few pets that I can currently get in-game (Gundrak Hatchling, Azure Whelpling, and the Crimson Whelpling), but I have all of the other ones. Now, obviously, its going to be easier with the pet battles and such,
The Insane... but only one part of it! Yes, I have The Insane title. Does that surprise you? I am The Achievement Warrior, after all. Anyway, I did Darkmoon Faire (old way, not the newfangled easy-peasy climb to get to exalted) and Bloodsail Buccaneers without an issue. The two scary parts were all four factions of the Steamwheedle Cartel and Ravenholdt. I got lucky and found a guild that was helping one of their members get to exalted at the farming spot in Tanaris, so they let me join them and I got everyone to exalted but Booty Bay. But, after that, Booty Bay was a cakewalk. The worst part? Ravenholdt. It's easier for rogues than it is for other factions (note: Fari is a WARRIOR. Hence the name of the blog). But, Fari spent hours killing mobs in Arathi Highlands. And hours. And then.... the pickpocketing. I finally hired a friend to help me with pickpocketing, and after a year, I finally got my title. I was really excited, let me tell you.
The Original Way to Do Loremaster. Before the Cataclysm, Loremaster was absolutely horrendous. Horrendous, I tell you. You had to do 700 quests on both Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor for both Horde and Alliance. This blog from Blizzard talks about the change that happened in Cataclysm. I did it the "old way" and it took me months to find the last 15 quests for Kalimdor for Alliance. I remember it took a lot of research, patience, and persistence, but eventually, I got it. Then, they changed in Cataclysm. I was none too impressed, let me tell you.
Frostbitten/Bloody Rare. Oh, Blizzard. Why do you make me kill a hunter pet for Frostbitten? Why? I can't bring myself to kill Loque. Granted, I've never seen her to consider killing her, but seriously. SERIOUSLY BLIZZARD. Now, this achievement has become a lot easier with account-wide achievements (I had kills on other characters that were on WrA before I moved Fari here), but I'm still short Loque and Dirkee for Frostbitten, and I'm short about 6 rares on Bloody Rare. I'll get there, eventually. But they make me mad.
What achievements have driven you crazy while you were trying to get them? What ones have been your favorite? Share some thoughts in the comments, have a great day, and we'll see you back here tomorrow.
