My WoW Collections - Blog Azeroth Shared Topic

Quick Life Update: Got both of the jobs I interviewed for yesterday. Excellent.

Noahdeer from Be MOP posted this week's Blog Azeroth topic, which asked the following:

"World of Warcraft has added many different items for players to collect, whether it be collecting pets, mounts, transmog gear or knickknacks about the lore. This week’s topic asks what you do collect in the game and what is your prized item from that collection?"

Oh geez. The Achievement Warrior, being asked what stuff she collects in game. I'm a bit of a pack rat you see. I like to see all of the cool things that I can collect and stuff my bags... or stuff... or other things... full of them. I don't like seeing things empty. Anyway, this completionist has a lot of things that she likes to collect. Incoming rant...

Achievements. Duh. Duh, duh, duh. Anyway, the number one thing that I "collect" (is collect the proper term?) is, of course, achievements. All the achievements; my current run is finishing old raid and PvP achievements. Working toward getting all of those little bars to completion is a pain, man! My most prized item? Probably earning The Insane title. Currently I'm at 14320 Achievement points, and counting.

Pets. It's like these are obvious, huh? Anyway, I'm absolutely in love with all of the pets available for catching and collecting. I was crazy about them before the pet battle craze started (I had 160-something pets), and now I have 474 unique pets (according to my armory I'm missing 38). The one I'm most proud of? It's a tie between Mr. Bigglesworth (from Raiding with Leashes) and the Sumprush Rodent, just because it was a horrible pain to get all of the Commendations to get the Rodent Crate.

Mounts. Another love of mine that I've shared before is that for mounts. I love collecting mounts; prior to MoP I had around 130-something. Now I'm at 173 (Having every Pandaria faction to exalted has its advantages). My most prized mounts (i'd be here all day if I listed my favorites)? My Grand Expedition Yak (all that gold...) and my Pandaren Kite (for Pandaren Ambassador)

Staves. This seems strange when I'm a Warrior, right? Well, that's because I don't collect them on my warrior. I collect them on my druid. Because, well, druid. One of my favorites is the Spire of Withering Dreams from Ulduar (seen on Velly, above). It's such a pretty druid staff, and I always transmog my staves into it.

Armor Sets. Armor sets, the roleplayer's bane. Now, I'm picky about what armor sets I collect. Not many of the warrior sets are pretty. At all. I have a couple of them, including the newest dungeon set. I love the mage sets; I have most of them on my mage; she's currently wearing the questing and dungeon set from Pandaria (see? It's pretty). But actually, my favorite set is this neat set (seen below) that I threw together. It's supposed to look like a viking set; shirtless and all. There is a breastplate that I use, but Fari has a beard.

Recipes.  Last but not least, recipes. Yes, every kind of recipe you can imagine. I've just really started on this endeavor in recent months, but trying to get all of the recipes on all of my professions (especially now that I have all of them maxxed out) is totally a goal of mine. Sadly, there are some I'll never be able to get, but I can at least try to get everything available to me now, right?

What do you like to collect in game? Are you an avid collector like me, or are you a casual that enjoys collecting some stuff now and again? Share some thoughts in the comments. Until next time!

Well Met!
Fari

  1. Glad to see that I'm not the only person who collects recipes! I will be posting my answer to this shared topic within the next couple of days :)

    1. Yes! Recipes are the bane of my existence, but they are fun to collect!

  2. That staff really is beautiful. I've got it languishing away on one of my many priests and your post has inspired me to dig it out and base a transmog around it. I might actually level said Priest whilst I'm at it.
