Thoughts on World of Warcraft: Legion

So, I know, I'm a little late on the boat, but I post on Tuesdays and I wanted to stay on schedule. :) Anyway, I watched the livestream like the total and complete nerd that I am, and there are a lot of things that I'm going to be putting together when it comes out. Anyway, here's a quick look at some of the things that really stood out to me during the streaming event.

Artifacts. Here's something I think is cool in concept, but I want to wait to see the execution. This means I have a different weapon if I play arms than if I play fury? What if I decide halfway through the xpac, like I did this one, that I'm sick of fury and I want to go arms instead? Will I have to start all over? That sucks if I do. What about people that tank and DPS? Or heal and DPS? Are there six different staves between warlocks and mages? Why in the world is the survival hunter artifact a freaking staff? Are we finally getting melee hunters? Lots of unanswered questions there.

Demon Hunters. Okay, I had a nerd moment. People have been begging for Demon Hunters for years, and now we're getting it. They look cool. I know some people are disappointed that only Kaldorei and Sin'dorei can be then, but I understand that logic because they made them so that they were specifically Illidari, which had to be elves. Would I have dug a dwarf demon hunter? Yes. But I'm fine with a Nelf too. Yes, I have a story forming in my head already.

All that being said, why couldn't they be a ranged tank? A cross between a lock and a rogue? I was talking to Jay about this a bit, and she's right - they haven't made any new ranged class in the game, ever. We could have had a ranged tank, we could have had something that didn't freaking wear leather (thanks Blizz), but this is still cool. There are pros and cons all around.

NIGHT. ELF. LORE. Speaking of Night Elves, holy FREAKING crap. Ancient Kaldorei civilizations? The world that has been ignored? All of the things? Yes. I love Kaldorei, which you likely know if you've been reading here for awhile, and because of that, I'm really excited about all of the lore that we're going to get. Answering more unanswered questions? Yes please, and make sure that you give us all of the answers.

All of the loose ends. Here's something that I'm really ecstatic about, but at the same time, it makes
me take pause as well. We're going to find Alleria and Turyalon. We're going to go to the Emerald Dream and eradicate the Nightmare. We're going to bind Sargeras back into his tomb. We're going to fight back the Legion so that they don't invade Azeroth. Hell, aren't these all of the things that we've been looking for? Yeah. I'm worried that this is the beginning of the end. But, at the same time, for a lore nerd like me - I'm freaking pumped too. It's a double edged sword, I suppose.

More Dungeons. Dungeons!!!!!!! I love 5 man content. I could do 5 man content forever and ever, and on the livestream, they apologized for neglecting them the past two expansions. Thank you, Blizz, for realizing the error of your ways. Hopefully, they don't go back on it. They had a nice big list of 5 man content that I can't really wait to check out and see for myself. Just stay good to your word, Blizz, and you'll have a very happy dwarf here.

PvP and PvE are now separate entities. Oh my freaking word. Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES. A total and complete overhaul of the entire PvP system? And making the talent trees and such separate from the PvE system? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Did I say yes? Because freaking yes. I am so excited about this and everything that this is likely going to mean when it comes to actually PvPing. I haven't done much at all in WoD because PvP has kinda been lackluster, but if this is as cool as it looks, I may go back to it.

So yeah, that's all the stuff that was on MY mind when I was watching the streams that they've put up. What did you get excited about? What do you think will be the best thing about this new expansion?

Well Met!
